As promised, this week I have guest. And yep... it's Dad!
All of my non-soundtracky loves have all come the brain of my dad, after numerous car trips with his CD transferred from an old skool cassette tape... Ah the good times.
So without further adieu, Phil Pennicott ladies and gentlemen!

NUMBER 10.
Lacrimosa - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Mozart didn't really have an album cover... so this will have to do. It is beautiful, but haunting music. And I don't know that Dad knows this, but it's definitely featured in some movies... including some Marvel films. How about that!
NUMBER 9.
Morning - Edvard Grieg

Morning, along with the Hall of the Mountain King are some of Grieg's most famous pieces. Apparently this was the first piece of classical music Dad heard... Cute!
NUMBER 8.
Anyone Who Had A Heart - Cilla Black

The first female vocalist Dad ever heard... and what a beautiful voice she has. Of course she went to present the first dating show I ever encountered... which has basically been replaced by Love Island #bringbackblinddates
NUMBER 7.
Sussex by the Sea - various military bands

This one doesn't need an album cover. It's Fatherland related - Dad is from Sussex - and it's played whenever the Seagulls come onto the pitch at the Amex and it's epic to hear the entire crowd singing. Dad has also put in his notes that this is to be played at his funeral... Hopefully that won't be for a long while yet. Dad's going to live forever.
NUMBER 6.
What a Feeling - Irene Cara

This song always features on any road trip. It's got a great beat, is entirely singable and it's a very passionate song.
NUMBER 5.
Because Tonight - Patti Smith

The beat. The softness of the piano before the beat starts. It's your typical 70s classic.
NUMBER 4.
SOS - ABBA

Reminds Dad of his first year at university, as it was always on the juke box.
NUMBER 3.
Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles

Unique song as it addressed loneliness in old people and it's memorable for that alone - and a topical now for the isolated.
NUMBER 2.
Amsterdam - Jacques Brel

Just hugely atmospheric. I couldn't find anything other than the live version, and Dad's right. It's very atmospheric.
NUMBER 1.
Run With The Pack - Bad Company

Dad's seventies motorcycling song - always in his head when he had the wind and bumble bees in his face

So there we have it, Dad's eclectic but awesome taste in music for all to see!
Next we have another theme... but you're going to have to wait and see what it is! In the meantime, enjoy Dad's musical mind!
