Another month that has passed by in a blur.
Firstly, and you might say most importantly, we celebrated having 31 years of my sister on this planet. And we went to a restaurant! Because we can now eat inside WAHEY! Next was my assignment being OFFICIALLY DONE, which means school's out for summer - literally.
Next - OBVS - is the football. And the tennis. And then the Olympics later on this year, after having a year with practically no sport, it seems 2021 is just sport galore. It's hard to choose what to watch in this house, given Josie always has Love Island on the radar too... Thankfully football wins whenever that's on. You can all breathe a sigh of relief.
My 5ks are doing well, too. I'm yet to do this weeks because it's been absolutely bonkers trying to get everything done by end 16th July - ready for my holiday :D - but over the coming weeks, I'll be walking SO MUCH. For our 5ks I have somehow managed to be at the top of my group - massive thanks to the handicaps we have against much faster runners! - but once I get back from Scotland, I am looking forward to getting back to my daily workouts. After nearly 5 weeks with relying on nothing but 1 or 2 5ks a week, my body is officially screaming at me to get up off the sofa.
Which brings me to the good bits of this post, rather than me going on about what I've been up to.
PHYSICAL HEALTH - JULY EDITION
One of my goals this month has been to try and get 10,000 steps a day, and I've enrolled on a number of challenges via my Garmin watch incl.:
A personal challenge with Josie to see who does the most steps in a week
July hiking - record 4 hours of hiking activities in July, which will be cinch once we get to Scotland!
July step month - record at least 300,000 steps in July
July warrior - record 5 hours of Yoga, and I'm planning to do some on holiday
July run-down - run 50 miles in July (this one is doubtful given I won't want to be running for miles after completing a long hike every day lol)
2021 walking: Stage 3 - Record 91 miles of walking activities between July and the end of September, again easy if I'm in Scotland AND I'm doing my 26 mile hike on Sept 18th.
So one can say I have a pretty active month planned for July, and we're already 8 days in.
MENTAL HEALTH - JULY EDITION
Now that I can actually enjoy a film in the evening without feeling guilty I should be studying. So for the next two months, I'll be thinking all things film. I haven't done it in a while, and it always comes in stages, I'm going to be doing 31 pages of scrapbook, because it's literally one of my favourite things to do in the world. I sit on the floor, surrounding myself with small, medium and large cut outs of all my favourite films and actors, all ready for my side Insta account: @filmandtvcollages
AND, because it's July and it's summer and I can do whatever the hell I want, I'm bringing back the colouring. Disney and Marvel only. Because who doesn't love Disney and Marvel. And as this month we're getting Black Widow in the cinemas - it's out 9th July - and well, Disney is Disney.
