JESUS IT’S BUSY! Is anyone else feeling that…?
Ah well. So only a mini update from me this month.
It’s still busy is the main update! But in other news I’ve hit my 7 year anniversary at work, and I’ve been touched by the lovely comments I’ve had from colleagues and friends. We went to our first wedding in nearly 3 years, which was at Gloucester Cathedral, and a high five to anyone who can recognise where this is from!
The wedding was lovely though, and it was nice to be in Bath again the day before and after. It was my mum’s birthday on the day, so we took her to the Pump Room the next day, where she got a birthday cupcake and they played happy birthday on the piano… making her suitably embarrassed!
I have quite a few friends with October birthdays, so special shout outs to Mum (obviously!) as well as to Sarah, Emily and Dan, who had and will have their birthdays on 11th, 29th and 14th of October. And we’re all 30 this year! God… how the hell did that happen!
More and more things are getting hyped on the cinema front too. Venom comes out today, James Bond came out at the end of Sept, and it was INCREDIBLE. No spoilers here though, don’t worry. Soon to come are The Eternals on November 5th, as well as Spider-Man: No Way Home on December 18th. God, I love the cinema. It just makes films so much better. And, gosh, we also have Dune, which comes out next week! And After We Fell! WHAT A MONTH. I think I need to sit down. Wait, I’m already sitting.
PHYSICAL HEALTH: OCTOBER EDITION
I have decided I need to walk more this month. As it’s getting a bit colder, the temptation is to all stay inside and snuggle under blankets, but it’s good to still get outside and walk a bit too. After doing the Big Hike, a group of us at work have decided to form our own walking club, and our first outing is on November 6th - photos to come next month - with us hoping to walk the whole of the London Loop by end of next year.
When going to work, I get out at Temple and walk now - on the days I’m not doing my assignment that is - and that’s quite refreshing, as not many people are around when I get into London around 7am (at least until I hit the Strand!) so it’s quite nice. Put my headphones, blast the tunes (which this month include the delights of the No Time To Die soundtrack) and all is good with the world.
So yeah, walking. And after my assignment is done on November 23rd, I’ll have more weekends free to do more things!
MENTAL HEALTH: OCTOBER EDITION
I‘ve found myself getting a little overwhelmed these last few weeks, as I have so much going on. I had a mini breakdown to my mum over the phone the other day (sorry Mum) when it suddenly hit me how much work my assignment would be this time… but after booking off a couple of days to do it in the week and enjoying a lovely weekend last weekend at the wedding, I have calmed slightly. And after the lovely comments I got from friends and colleagues on my anniversary, it lifted my spirits!
But I still need an escape, that time where you can just switch off, listen to soft, relaxing music and just do something that doesn’t involve reading, concentrating or your screen.
And I do scrapbooking to do that. Even if I’m just cutting out the pictures, it takes me to a different place and helps me relax and wind down after a stressful day, especially as I’m getting up really early to get studying in as well. You gotta take care of you!
So this month’s mental health keep-up will be scrapbook pages again. Now, seeing as its the 15th October, I already I owe you 15, but it‘s a good thing I have a Film and TV collages Instagram account!
So enjoy my creations. 31 of them, old and new, some created recently, some created a few years ago. See if you can spot the difference!
