A film that is also a book you love...
My favourite book quote is this one: We accept the love we think we deserve.
That book is The Perks of Being A Wallflower and it is a book I have read and re-read more than twelve times (which is a lot for me) because it is so well written.
I was dubious when I saw the film was being released, as I am with every book adaptation I've ever read and loved... But I was worrying for nothing. Every single element of that film was absolutely outstanding. The casting, the writing, the emotions, the music... Just everything.
Stephen Chbosky wrote the book and directed the film, so there's no surprise really how it turned out so well. But it just goes to show that if an author can direct their own films, maybe we would all have a little more faith in our favourite books being adapted into films...
Logan Lerman really nailed being Charlie. He was the perfect Charlie. Ezra Miller and Emma Watson too. Literally just everything was perfect about both the book and the film.
