And today it's BOOST.

It took me a while to work out what my boost was a couple of years ago. But now I know it's music.

I can't be in silence for very long. I can't have a car journey without a pre-thought-out playlist. I can't write without something motivating in my ears. I love my drumming my fingers along to the music, pretending I'm playing the piano, or tapping my foot to the beat. And if I forget my headphones on any day, I hate it.

But I don't just listen to music because I'm bored, I listen because love hearing it so much. And because it's motivating. The beautiful tunes can help shape a scene I'm writing, can help make a chapter I'm reading more atmospheric... or just help pass the time when I’m sat doing puzzles... or scrapbooks.

Ask any person, both at home or during my commute, I constantly have my headphones in, listening to soundtracks, embracing new ones or remembering old ones, and it makes me happy.

I'm not ashamed to say I am one of those cheesy people who walks down the street with my headphones in, pretending I'm in a movie or something... and I don't even care!

Music is the key to the soul, and it definitely gives me a boost.

No matter what mood I'm in, I can find something to listen to...
